When I got to the endless exapanse of water, it was a bit disappointing. It’s like the prairie, but with depth. And there’s a lot to be said for the mysterious depths of the ocean, but on the surface the overwhelming agoraphobic quality of the ocean is much like standing in a Great Plains feild. This picture, for example, reminds me of a poster that a lot of people have that jokes “ski North Dakota”. |
