Studio Visit with Andy McInnis
A quick update on what’s been going on with me and work, etc. I haven’t been this busy in a really long time, but a lot of it is good stuff. For starters, I’m starting to get a better grip on taking over Secrets of the City. It’s a complicated process, but I’m definitely getting a handle on the current business, as well as getting a feel for the direction I’d like to take it. At the moment I’m super excited to be working with Kate Iverson and Kelsey Johnston, and have heard interest from some other folks who would be great additions. I’ve also got a pretty full week of current and prospective client meetings to see who’s on board for some of the growth the site will take. One thing I’m also trying to do is get a better and more integrated approach to the ‘social’ elements of the business, including really drumming up as much brand extension as possible through tumblr. Being a tumblr fiend for a long time now, I really think there’s a lot of audience trust and confidence that can come from distro through tumblr. What I’m going to try and do is build out the tumblr network and push through the beginnings of the content that Secrets will be regularly featuring, including these slideshows. If you’ve got any ideas or comments for the biz, let me know. Oh, and while I’m figuring this out, we’re also working on zombie pub crawl, which has 8,000 ‘attending’ and 6,000 ‘maybes’ on facebook. Just ridiculous. |
