The New - and Many - Mediums

When you look at the last 30 years or so of developments in digital communications, it’s crazy to think how many different communication mediums have debuted, from BBS chats to email to ambient communications like Twitter to networks like Friendster to search engines to turntable.fm and so much more. You could do an entirely new volume to McLuhan’s “Understanding Media” with chapters on money, collaborative creativity, the loss of penmanship skills, etc.
