1.  Earlier today Erik Moe and I sat down for a beer and had a most excellent chat about the current healthcare debate. The healthcare debate is so complex that I’m not sure that we can understand all the ins and outs of what’s happening right now, but I’d still like to throw this perspective at you: the current healthcare debate that’s taking place isn’t about how...

For the half-dozen US newspaper companies in bankruptcy, it’s an official, court-approved do-over they are looking for, witness Brian Tierney’s effort to shed some $300 million in debt in Philly as the papers seek to emerge from court supervision. He can make the case for a fresh start, building on the pride of downsizing: “Our performance has been incredible. We have carved $95...

Tim Pawlenty foresees GOP surge if healthplan is... →
This is probably the best description of Governor Pawlenty that I’ve seen in awhile.  Not “Pawlenty sees more uninsured if healthplan is rejected” or “Pawlenty sees continued strain on economy if healthplan is rejected”, but that he sees a little more political opportunity for his questionable national political aspirations.  that’s really too bad.
